Summer 2007!
Published June 21, 2007 Code-E , Nanatsuiro Drops , Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei , School Days Leave a CommentThese are the shows that I will probably watch/blog~!
Nanatsuiro Drops (7/2/07) – It’s about a guy who gets cursed into turning into a stuffed animal every dark, and about a girl who can help him out. It’s another one of those shows that has a summary with a thin line between “adorable” and “dumb”. I’ll check out the first episode and see if it’s the first choice (or both), and I’ll see if I’ll watch out for it from there.
Code-E (7/3/07) – There’s a girl that does strange stuff to electronic gadgets when her emotions go haywire, and a guy who wants to study her. Graphics are cute, and I’m guessing stuff goes haywire when she realizes she’s in love with him, and he’ll be all “Wth why’d that happen?” and she’ll blush like crazy.
School Days (7/3/07) – Another slice of life show about an annoying undecisive guy and two equally great girls he can’t choose between. The game sounded interesting enough, with the notorious bad endings, but I’m guessing those won’t appear in the anime. Still worth watching, though. Probably.
Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei (7/7/07) – There’s a teacher who tries to commit suicide, but his incredibly naive student stops him without realizing what he’s really trying to do. It sounds interesting and reeks of your usual Lolita complex, or maybe it’s one of those “life is great” shows. Honestly, no idea.
Summary: Mugi and Kai are both overjoyed that they’re not alone when it comes to failing tests, which Kayo thinks is a weird basis for a friendship. Mugi thinks about escaping practice, but the rest of the club comes to their classrooms and drags them her and Kai off, anyway. They practice strenghtening the voice and ad-libbing. At the middle of practice, Mugi literally runs away when she sees an opening.
Later, Nono impulsively makes a bet with Sakaki that their whole club can make the top fifty in the coming exams. Because of this bet, they all go to a study group during the evening. Afterwards, Nono asks Katsuragi to bring Mugi home. Mugi is terrified at what Chitose might do if she finds out that Katsuragi brought her home.
Next day, Risaki is convinced that they lost the bet. To add, they find out it was theur club funds at stake. So, Risaki grabs the list and orders Kai to run away with her and hide the list. Nono goes on a rampage and brings Risaki back anyway. In the end, they didn’t say what happened about the bet and the list, and Nono announces that they’re going to practice more in the summer. It also shows Nono talking to the doctor about her voice condition getting worse.
IMO: Funniest episode ever. Strange, though, that Nono seemed to get a personality change here. She was much… “happier” this episode, and as usual, so clingy towards Mugi. They seem so incredibly canon, especially when Mugi starts to blush about Nono getting so close. Talk about a violation of personal space.
Nono and Sasaki’s relationship seemed much more casual this time around, since in the previous episodes, they just kept bitching at eachother. Finally, they’re starting to dwell on much trivial matters, which shows they’re just humans. It’s also revealed that Sasaki was Nono’s ‘friend who got her into drama’, and it’s probably because she didn’t want Nono’s condition to get worse that she kicked Nono out. Pretty smart, actually. And it just makes Nono look like a brat, and Sasaki really reasonable, imo.
This episode made me love Risaki so much more. She’s such a hilarious character, and I love her “‘You can do it if you try’ is a lie, impossible is impossible!” statement, and then grabbing the lists and just suddenly running away. Hahaha.
